Quaint: (adj.) “Attractively unusual or old-fashioned.”

Quaint Carpentry’s owner, Tom, began his remodeling business by working on older homes in Corning, NY. Working on these old buildings sprouted Tom’s love for detail and classic architecture, while reinforcing his appreciation for the enduring craftmanship and skill of artisans from bygone eras.

Not without their quirks and issues, historic houses also provide various unique challenges that require outside-the-box-type thinking to solve. These challenges, which Quaint Carpentry relished tackling, also helped us progress quickly in our full-service remodeling skills. This is one of the many reasons we enjoy custom-making pieces to fit in specific and exact locations within our clients’ homes.

Are you looking for a custom vanity to save space in your bathroom remodel? Would you like to take advantage of tailor-made storage solutions to fit a unique space in your home? Do you have an odd corner of your bathroom that requires a custom-size shower pan and shower build? These are just a few of the questions we have been excited to help our customers solve.

At Quaint Carpentry we also pride ourselves on the meticulous care we put into keeping your home clean. Let’s face it: demolition, carpentry, and remodeling are all inevitably very messy tasks, which is why our motto is “Make a mess, as cleanly as possible.”

For larger demolition and remodeling jobs, we are scrupulous about running vacuums for all the sawing and cutting work we do and use HEPA-rated air scrubbers to continuously clean and purify the air in our workspace. For smaller projects in finished spaces, you can often find us working in our socks. We treat our clients’ homes as our own and want to ensure that you can start enjoying your new space immediately, without having to vacuum, mop, and clean up after we leave.

A lifelong learner and constant student, Tom continues to passionately study carpentry, custom cabinetry, tiling, high-performance building details, and most recently: woodworking and furniture making.
